CLIENT PROJECTS:

Freelance Illustration

Freeelance image conceptualisation and illustration visualation for individuals and private organisations. Current clients have interests as diverse as the film industry, debt and credit management, tablod magazine literature,and health services. This has expanded to include photography and post production services, where clients have included aspiring models and performance artists requiring a commecial photography portfolio, and personal and private weddings by arrangement.

Music tuition

Peripatetic tuition in Haringey schools, ensemble coaching, and private instrumental tuition. Darren Taylor is a CRB registered teacher of Double Bass, bass guitar and musicianship in Haringey Schools, and also offers private tuition to all age ranges, across a multitude of styles. Lessons cater for those who have a musical ear and want to get on and learn songs in a fun way, as well as those who want to develop their reading and general understanding of musical concepts to advance their educational aims. In both cases the aim is to get the student to develop their own unique sound on the bass, as the teacher has done. Basses can be provided for lessons upon request, and lessons can also be arranged at home upon request.

Music Performance

International Session engagements for live performing and studio recording artists. Pre- and post production facilities and services, artist and brand consultancy services. Current Clients include Courtney Pine OBE, The Mighty Jeddo, and performance poet Roger Robinson. is a member of the Gigs and Venues commmitee and the Equalities committee for the Musicians union, and and a memebr of his local arts collective, Haringey Arts, an umbrella organisation representing artists, musicians, performers, designers and all sorts of creative people and organisations in the London Borough of Haringey.

INTERNAL PROJECTS:

Katie Rogers

" I wanted to create a character that girls could relate to and something that would be easy for guys to pick up
in the comic stores as a gift for their girlfriends."

Artist Des Taylor came up with the concept of a modern day average heroine based on his girly buddies. 10,000 members of the myspace community warmed to his character and now he and finally finished the first Katie Rogers Graphic Novel which was shown considerable interest by the traditional comic powerhouses of Marvel and DC.

The Katie Rogers Brand has developed into a new and exciting range of products and services such as public and private party events (Katies Parties, which are really fun and friendly nights out hosted at some of the top nightspots in and around town) Des has also continued to produce Limited Edition Artwork, and online comic strips.

Jazzreloaded

The Jazzreloaded project is Jazzreloaded is the online documentation of a musical journey in UK AfroPean jazz and its myriad artists and forms

jazzreloaded arranges for people to attend jazz gigs and write reviews on established and developing artists.

promotes UK AfroPean jazz in all its forms, Nu Jazz, be-bop, swing, hip hop, soul, funk, spoken word, and styles yet to be labelled!

produces UK - Jazz related content, including video showreels, radio programmes, and live events.

focuses on long established artists currently practiscing in the Uk and worldwide

reccomends specific artists to perform at specific types of musical event, from functions to festivals.

The Horizon Venture

This performance proposal for The Horizon Venture is an endeavour to install synthesised live music alongside animated visuals and live and pre recorded narrative for a repeatable performance experience.

It is a musical distillation of ideas relating to identity, humanity, citizenship and scientific progress inspired by the book The Horizon Venture, written by Vidal Montgomery

The Horizon Venture presents a particular opportunity for artists trained in traditional Western Classical instrumentation and harmonic concepts to embrace current sound effects and production technology and the use of music as soundscape.

Des Pop

Artist Des Taylor's drawings are sassy, cool, Funky and desireable. Always leaving something to the imagination, My drawings reflect the power of the female form on a street level. His inspiration comes from girls and fashion of urbania, ,50's pin ups and cheesecake models, his friends and ,the Comic book artists Bruce Timm and Jack Kirby and the great artists Toulouse Lautrec and Roy Lichenstien.

Clients have included Michael Jackson, Geri Halliwell, Cilla Black, and his work has received personal plaudits and resulted in encounters with the likes of Janet Jackson, Jack Nicholson, Britney Spears, Kim Basinger, Denise Richards, Mark Dacascos Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Sisqo, Samantha Mumba, Melinda Messenger, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ray Parks.
